Description

American Traveler is hiring a Burn ICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring at least two years of recent ICU experience and current Epic proficiency.

Details

• Work in the Burn Intensive Care Unit (BICU) of a hospital setting
• Care for critically ill burn and complex wound patients with a 1:3 patient ratio
• Utilizes Epic charting system
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 1900-0730
• Every other weekend required with some holiday coverage
• Floating required as needed

Requirements

• Active WI RN license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• PALS certification preferred
• Minimum two years of acute care ICU experience within the last three years in the specialty
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required, ideally within the past 12 months
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to starting, with strict passing criteria for adult and pediatric rhythm interpretation
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/arterial line and PICC line management, blood product administration, and port access/management
• Experience with ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and airway suctioning
• Experience managing vasoactive and sedation drips, IV insulin protocols, and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Experience with complex wound or burn care and thermoregulation management preferred

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to burn and multisystem organ dysfunction patients in a Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates not accepted
• References are not required for consideration
• Must successfully pass a telemetry competency exam prior to starting, with up to two attempts allowed before additional review is required
• Holiday coverage expected as part of the schedule
• Parking permits available through university transportation, with additional public transit options nearby
