Overview

The Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) will provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a behavioral health unit serving adolescents ages 13-17 and adults 18+. You will help promote safety, stabilization, and therapeutic support for patients with behavioral health, psychiatric, and dual-diagnosis needs. This night-shift nursing role includes guaranteed hours and the opportunity to make a difference every shift.

• Schedule Notes: Weekend hours are included in the 36-hour schedule; occasional support for call/text coverage may be needed for call-offs or open shifts
• Unit Type: Acute stabilization behavioral health unit

• Environment: Multiple behavioral health units with occasional floating as needed

Job Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
• Strong de-escalation and crisis intervention skills
• Behavioral health, psychiatric, medical, or dual-diagnosis experience preferred
• Experience with CIWA and COWS preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented healthcare setting
• Comfort working with adolescent and adult behavioral health patients
• Flexibility to float among units when needed

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a behavioral health and psychiatric setting
• Use therapeutic communication and de-escalation techniques to support patient safety
• Monitor patients for changes in condition and respond appropriately
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support treatment plans
• Assist with care for patients experiencing medical, psychiatric, or dual-diagnosis concerns
• Document care accurately and maintain a safe, structured milieu
• Support admissions, discharges, and ongoing patient stabilization as needed
• Float to other units when necessary to meet patient care needs
