Job Title: Anesthesia Technician Profession: Allied Anesthesia Tech Specialty: Anesthesia Technician Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8.0 Experience: Minimum of two years as an Anesthesia Technician License: BLS required Certifications: Certification by a recognized professional certifying body is preferred Must-Have: - Two years of experience as an Anesthesia Technician - BLS preferred Description: Assist in the care of patients undergoing anesthesia. Prepare anesthesia equipment prior to patient arrival. Place anesthesia monitors and ensure cleanliness of anesthesia equipment. Ensure availability of specialized anesthesia equipment and supplies. Set up medications and supplies where applicable. Communicate continuously with anesthesiologists, residents, and other anesthesia personnel. Assist clinicians with difficult intubations and placement of central line catheters. Operate the cell-saver machine and keep track of lab reports. Participate in advanced surgical cases across various specialties, including trauma and transplant. Provide on-call coverage as needed. Support the maintenance of anesthesia equipment, ensuring it is in good working order. Perform advanced troubleshooting and serve as a resource for specialized equipment. Assist in the development and implementation of in-service training programs. Train staff on the roles and responsibilities of an anesthesia technician. Test and troubleshoot anesthesia equipment, including infusion pumps and monitors. Set up operating rooms between cases and carts throughout the day. Ensure proper equipment is available for out-of-OR procedures. Provide backup support to the shift supervisor in their absence. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
