This role promotes the district-wide integration of Trauma-Sensitive Schools TSS by collaborating with intra-district teams providing direct clinical support to students and families and developing a network of community-based resources to promote student wellness and academic achievement.What Youll Be Doing ResponsibilitiesClinical Intervention & SupportProvide brief trauma-informed and solution-focused clinical interventions crisis response support conflict mediations assessments brokerage services and other social-emotional support to students and families.Establish healthy partnerships with parents that focus on increasing their understanding of their students challenges encouraging their constructive participation and building their awareness of available resources. This may include home visits.Develop a network of trauma-informed student and family support services including community non-profits tutoring programs recreational and cultural activities WIC Medicaid housing assistance emergency assistance and other community or government-sponsored human services agencies.Coordinate school-community linkages to care for students and families based on appropriate assessments while prioritizing connections to trauma-informed partner agencies.School & District-Wide LeadershipPromote a positive school culture and improve student socio-emotional wellness and academic achievement by leading consultations with building leaders teachers classroom instructors and other staff through in-services and other communications.Collaborate with intra-district offices and DSS Leadership to develop system-wide strategies for Trauma-Sensitive School implementations.Review and critique relevant district and office policy for its clinical compatibility and operational effectiveness and draft recommended policy changes as appropriate.Secure funding for school-based programming and initiatives including but not limited to grant writing.Data Management & ReportingAnalyze data reports generated weekly monthly and as needed by student data management systems to determine project status and areas of opportunity for improved communicationstrategies and treatmentintervention.Organize and maintain accurate complete and confidential case management records paper and electronic including student progress notes contact logs referrals follow-up documents reports and assessments.Other related duties as assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities NoTo Be Successful at This Job Youll Need To QualificationsEducation andor ExperienceMasters degree in Social Work Counseling or a closely related field.Three 3 years of direct working experience with socio-economically challenged youth in a culturally and ethnically diverse urban setting.Three 3 years of experience with case management.Three 3 years of experience in individual and small group clinical intervention.Previous experience working with school systems and local state or federal agencies.LicensureMissouri professional license as a Licensed Master Social Worker LMSW or as a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor PLPC.Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrate knowledge of the theory and practice of mental health assessment and treatment.Knowledge and experience of providing trauma-sensitive service and an understanding of how trauma impacts students and other systems.Demonstrated experience preparing detailed written and oral reports including the development and facilitation of training.Ability to perform basic statistical analysis and problem-solving.Strong organizational skills.Ability to work flexible hours.Ability to conduct assessments and write reports.Office skills including typing keyboarding and computer skills with the ability to use Excel Word Access MS Outlook and other operating systems.Must have a current drivers license and eligibility for insurance through KCPS insurance provider.In Order to LevelUp in This Role Youll Need Preferred QualificationsMissouri professional license as a Clinical Social Worker LCSW or a Licensed Professional Counselor.Bilingual written and verbal skills.Physical Demands This job requires that the employee be able to sit stand walk speak hear use hands fingers and reach with hands and fingers bend stoop and lift objects of at least twenty-five pounds. Visual ability requires mono and color vision close vision distance vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.Terms of Employment Length of work year 12 months 7.5 hours per day 5 days per week 260 workdays.Benefits Health and Dental Insurance are provided.
