Responsible for data collection, both abstracting and analyzing, accurate data entry, and data completion of trauma patient population. Also responsible for data submission and report generation for appropriate parties within the designated time frame. Assists with projects and studies as requested. Provides other secretarial support to the trauma service as requested such as ordering supplies and assembling of trauma packets.
Requirements:
- CSTR (Certified Specialist in Trauma Registry) preferred.
- High school graduate and minimum of associates degree in health related field or 2 years work experience with strong emphasis on data integrity and analysis.
- Medical Terminology required.
- Proficiency in computers and medical record applications
- Previous registry/report writing experience preferred
- Experience with Trauma Systems preferred
- AIS and ICD 9/10 coding familiarity is highly recommended.
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills, strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize requests and assignments. Self-directed with ability to function independently.
- Competent in Word, Excel, Outlook and data management.
- Experience with Trauma One Registry preferred.
