Pay Grade: 105

Hourly Salary Range: $22.06 up to $32.54

The successful candidate's placement in the salary range will depend upon previous experience in a similar role.

DESCRIPTION

This position maintains transportation/transit infrastructure and facilities, including installation and maintenance of street signage and striping, bus stop shelters and furniture, graffiti remediation, bike paths, and lighting maintenance.

Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains and cleans transit / transportation infrastructure (i.e., bus shelters, pavement markings, landscaping, lighting, graffiti remediation signage, benches).
  • Installs transit/transportation elements and infrastructure (i.e., street signage, pavement markings and striping, benches, shelters).
  • Responds to emergency signage installs/replacements, cleanups and damaged transit/transportation infrastructure.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and new installations on traffic control devices, signage, pavement markings, transit/transportation infrastructure.
  • Install traffic cones and barricades; direct and control traffic during normal work schedule, evenings, weekends and special events.
  • May perform responsibilities of a similar nature and level as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

One (1) year of experience in construction or related experience.

Candidates must have the minimum amount of work experience. Years of experience are based upon a full-time work schedule (2,080 hours per year). The sum of an applicant's full-time and/or part-time qualifying work experience must meet or exceed the stated minimum qualification. Education will not substitute for the required work experience; however, related unpaid and/or volunteer work experience may be used as qualifying work experience.

Education:

High school diploma or GED.

Professional Licensure and/or Certifications:

  • Valid drivers license
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL), when assigned to striping section, obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Signs & Pavement Markings Technician I, when assigned to signing or striping section, obtain within six (6) months of hire
  • International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Work Zone Safety Certification, obtain within six (6) months of hire

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Applicants considered for this job classification must pass the following:

  • Criminal history review
  • Post offer/pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
  • Post offer/pre-employment physical
