This position will work with other Virginia regions as well.Responsibilities will include the following:Hydrologic/hydraulic (H/H) studies and drainageStormwater management (SWM) and erosion/sediment control (ESC) design primarily for transportation projectsPerforming hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) watershed analysis and modeling for river mechanics / Floodplain StudiesPreparation or modification of drainage design on CADD drawings/ construction plan documentsWater quality, quantity, design per VA DEQ regulationsStorm sewer system design and profilesErosion and sediment control designBridge/culvert hydraulics and design, including scour analysisOther duties may include performing GIS based project background mapping, utilization of H&H modeling software, technical report preparation, and construction cost estimating. Some field work may be required; therefore, the candidate will need a vehicle or access to transportation for this position.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering from an ABET accredited program5-10 years of relevant experienceEIT certification required, PE preferredExperience designing drainage, stormwater management systems/BMP's, erosion and sediment pollution controls; and preparing contract documents preferred.Experience with H/H design software including HY-8, NRCS (TR-55/TR-20); HydroCAD, StreamStats, HEC-RAS, Pondpack et. al preferredHands-on experience with MicroStation CADD software.
