Transportation Systems Specialist

SUMMARY:

The person in this position assists in automation, upkeep, and usage of various operating technologies for all G&W roads. This includes but is not limited to setup, training, reporting, and support of Service Planner, mCrew, RVP, e-Bol, and TMS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Troubleshoot all TMS, RVP, e-Bol, Service Planner and mCrew issues that arise
• Set up the above, including blocking rules, reports and master files
• Support the Revenue Protection Department in finding missed revenue; help to find new revenue opportunities using the above-mentioned systems
• Work with various departments to reduce revenue-invoice adjustments
• Work very closely with Customer Service to assist in making them more proficient in TMS
• Create Excel reports to show how automation is progressing across G&W
• Drive fine-tuning of automation setup across multiple regions
• Come up with new ideas to make TMS, Service Planner, mCrew, RVP, and e-Bol better tools for end users
• Travel to all G&W properties to provide training to operations and customers on the above-mentioned systems
• Assist with TMS and Service Planner training of other departments
• Assist with other projects and perform other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

• Ability to read marketing contracts and decide how TMS should be set up to capture revenue
• Willingness to travel (up to 10 percent)
• Excellent skills in the entire Microsoft Office suite of applications
• Two to five years of relevant work experience with RMI or similar Transportation Management Systems.
• At least one year of experience working with an ISS railroad
• Previous operations experience preferred
• Experience with SAP Business Objects, PowerBI, and Dynamics 365 preferred
• Ability to be self-motivated

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
