POSITION SUMMARY: Supervise daily operations of the Transportation Shop. Including: maintenance and repair of University Fleet Vehicles, equipment, trailers, and buses.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintaining fleet vehicles
Supervising technicians
Troubleshooting vehicle and equipment problems
Determining vehicle rotation schedule
Determining vehicle service and maintenance schedule
Maintaining DOT and DMV paperwork on all vehicles and drivers
Additional duties as assigned by manager
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of DOT regulations
Basic knowledge of shop operations
Basic mechanical skills
Basic computer skills
Effective oral and written communication
Professional in appearance and presentation
Personnel management skills
OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Drive motorized vehicles
Work around machines
Work above floor level
Exposed to dust, fumes, gases
Exposed to marked changes in temperature
Work outdoors in varying weather
Repetitive hand movement (firm grasp)- both hands
