The Transportation Safety Manager plays a critical role for CR&R in monitoring the health of the EHS system through training, coordinating and auditing the implementation of Environmental, Health & Safety programs. The position manages compliance efforts and continuous EHS improvement strategies. In addition, the Safety Manager will be responsible for ensuring all incidents and their corrective actions are completed.
Salary Range: $75,000 - $80,000 per year
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in the determination of the preventability of accidents and injuries
- Conduct safety and DOT audits to ensure managers and employees are following safety rules/ regulations
- Provide required monthly safety training to all managers
- Develop training strategies, initiatives and materials for new driver orientation
- Evaluate safety concerns and incident countermeasures for compliance with regulations and company policy
- Conduct investigations and review completed reports related to traffic and industrial type accidents
- Assist with legal issues pertaining to accident and injury investigations to determine cause and also, that result in litigation.
- Participate in legal depositions that CR&R is involved in and testify in a court of law if required
- Investigate thefts which may occur on company property
- Investigate any threats or potential threats of violence to employees
- Investigate any crimes that may occur on company property and liaison with law enforcement personnel
