The Role
We are seeking a strategic and experienced Transportation Practice Leader - Construction Management to oversee construction operations and business growth in Southern California. In this role, you will lead the local Construction Management team, foster client relationships, and drive business development. You will have the opportunity to leverage Psomas regional presence and strong client base to expand the firms transportation practice, delivering complex public sector projects with excellence and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead construction management operations and oversee project delivery across transportation projects.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor to public sector clients.
- Drive business development efforts, including proposal writing, presentations, and securing new work.
- Coordinate with local and state-wide Psomas teams to leverage resources, expertise, and work-sharing opportunities.
- Provide strategic direction and mentorship to project managers and staff within the CM team.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in California.
- 15 years of experience in construction or project management with a focus on transportation projects.
- Caltrans Right of Way experience.
- Proven success in business development, including proposal writing and client presentations.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with a track record of securing new work.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $175,000 - $230,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
- Incentives: Discretionary performance bonus program.
