SUMMARY

Responsible for the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of transit facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primary functions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive.

Monitors and performs daily maintenance and custodial functions at transit facilities.

Drive city maintenance vehicle safely through out City of Fort Collins.

Repairs and maintains bus stops, shelters and transit centers.

Replaces and repairs signs and route information at bus stops.

Operates snow removal equipment to maintain bus stops and shelters.

Cleans shelters, picks up trash and broken glass, trims weeds, removes graffiti and performs other general upkeep of bus stops, shelters and transit centers.

Document and record daily activities and incidents on computer.

Work with other city departments as needed for sign placements, right of way information, easements and general maintenance of facilities and grounds.

Operates small power tools.

Maintains power washers, weed eaters and other equipment.

Stocks kiosks with route information.

Collects monies from pay machines

Responsible for maintenance and PM's on pay machines

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the necessary functions of this position.

Ability to do general maintenance work.

Basic knowledge of carpentry.

Basic math skills.

Safe driving skills

Basic map reading skills.

General computer knowledge, using spreadsheets and word documents.

Ability to use a 2-way radio.

Knowledge of general office equipment.

Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with public, coworkers and City staff.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED; one to two years related experience in building or grounds maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and citizens.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid driver's license

Ability to maintain a Department of Transportation physical.
