We are in search of an innovative leader to join our expanding Transmission & Distribution team in St. Louis, MO. In this prominent position, you will supervise impactful transmission projects from inception to completion, serving as a valued consultant to utility clients. You will have the freedom to lead diverse teams, ensure project success, and actively contribute to the growth of one of the most reputable engineering practices in the industry.

• Oversee large-scale transmission infrastructure projects that maintain community connectivity
• Collaborate directly with major utility and energy clients as a trusted consultant
• Take charge of projects from proposal stage to finalization with significant decision-making responsibilities
• Influence business expansion by cultivating new and existing client connections
• Work alongside nationally recognized engineering specialists across various fields
• Guide future leaders while progressing your own career towards senior management

As the Project Manager, you will be accountable for both project delivery and client contentment.

Project Oversight

• Direct transmission engineering projects from initial stages to culmination
• Supervise project scope, timelines, finances, profitability, projections, and financial performance
• Create project execution strategies, manage risks, and supervise change control
• Coordinate diverse teams including engineering, environmental, permitting, right-of-way, procurement, project controls, and construction management
• Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality standards

Client & Business Growth

• Act as the primary contact for utility and energy clients
• Cultivate trusted relationships with clients to foster recurring business and long-term partnerships
• Identify opportunities for expanding services within existing accounts
• Lead in proposal drafting, client presentations, and contract discussions
• Participate in strategic planning and business growth projects

Team Guidance

• Mentor engineers and project professionals
• Assist in recruitment, orientation, and development of project teams
• Promote collaboration across engineering departments
• Cultivate a culture focused on safety, quality, innovation, and continuous enhancement

We are seeking a leader who possesses technical expertise along with exceptional project management and client engagement abilities.

Qualifications Needed

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field
• At least 7 years of engineering experience
• Minimum of 3 years managing Transmission & Distribution engineering projects
• Prior experience overseeing overhead transmission line projects from design to construction
• Strong grasp of project financial management, budgeting, forecasting, scheduling, and risk management
• Experience in developing transmission design and construction documents
• Familiarity with the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and relevant industry standards
• Proven track record in leading diverse engineering teams
• Demonstrated ability to nurture client relations and secure repeat business
• Exceptional skills in leadership, communication, negotiation, and problems solving
