Job Description- Design overhead transmission line systems for utility and infrastructure projects ranging from 69kV, 115kV, 138kV, 161kV, 230kV, 345kV, and up to 500kV
- Perform transmission line routing, structure spotting, clearance verification, and conductor selection
- Develop engineering calculations including sag & tension analysis, loading trees, structure utilization, and line design criteria
- Prepare and review construction packages, plan/profile drawings, staking sheets, and material specifications
- Coordinate with structural, civil, geotechnical, substation, and protection & controls engineering teams throughout project execution
- Support steel pole, lattice tower, monopole, and wood pole transmission line projects
- Utilize engineering software such as PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, PLS-TOWER, and AutoCAD for line design and analysis
- Review designs for compliance with NESC, client standards, utility specifications, and applicable industry codes
- Participate in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and technical reviews
- Interface directly with utility clients, contractors, permitting agencies, and internal project teams
- Provide construction support including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and resolving field design issues
- Support renewable energy interconnection projects including solar, wind, battery storage, and generation tie-lines

The Successful Applicant
A successful Transmission Line Engineer should have: - Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of transmission line engineering experience preferred
- Experience supporting utility, consulting, or EPC transmission projects
- Proficiency with transmission design software including PLS-CADD preferred
- Understanding of overhead transmission engineering principles and utility standards
- PE license or EIT certification preferred
