Transmission Line Engineer - HVOur client is a nationally recognized engineering consulting firm delivering complex power infrastructure projects for major utilities, cooperatives, and renewable energy developers. With a strong backlog of transmission and substation work, they offer long-term career growth, technical development, and the opportunity to support critical grid modernization initiatives across North America.Job DescriptionDesign and engineer overhead transmission line projects from 69kV through 500kV+.Develop transmission line layouts, profiles, and plan-and-profile drawings using PLS-CADD.Perform line design calculations including conductor selection, sag-tension analysis, structure loading, and clearance studies.Coordinate with structural engineers on steel pole, lattice tower, and wood pole designs.Support routing studies, permitting efforts, environmental reviews, and constructability assessments.Review survey, geotechnical, and LiDAR data to support transmission line design.Prepare engineering packages, technical specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.Collaborate with utilities, EPC contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams.Provide construction support, respond to RFIs, and assist during field installation and commissioning activities.Ensure designs comply with NESC, utility standards, and applicable industry regulations.MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
