Job Title: Transmission Engineer-Level 4 - Lead (15+ Years)Job Description

This position is responsible for managing the design of transmission generation tie lines for Wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage, as well as stand-alone transmission line projects. The role involves overseeing the entire project lifecycle from conception to construction and commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the design of transmission line projects from the early stage through construction and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with the Early Stage Project Manager to define project requirements and scope.
  • Secure engineering consulting resources, develop a scope of work, and manage the bidding process.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop routes, support engineering data, and acquire necessary permits.
  • Source, select, and contract geotechnical, survey, engineering, and construction services competitively.
  • Support the E&C Cost Estimating Team with scope assumptions.
  • Ensure the delivery of engineering outputs such as Issued for Bid, Issued for Procurement, and As-built drawings.
  • Represent the E&C's interests, providing briefings on project progress and risk mitigation to management.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 7 years of direct experience in high voltage transmission line projects.
  • Strong knowledge of transmission design and project management skills.
  • Ability to understand one-line and three-line diagrams, general arrangements, and other common deliverables.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Travel required within North America.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience.
  • PMP and/or P.E. in a related discipline is a plus.
  • Proficiency with PLSCADD, Microsoft products, Auto-CAD, and Primavera.

Work Environment

Remote work with occasional travel to Juno Beach as required. The role demands a strong work ethic and adherence to technical excellence. The work environment supports leadership, decision-making, and strategic thinking, focusing on renewable projects.

This is a Contract position based out of Juno Beach, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $68.00/hr.
