Transmission Civil EIT/Coordinator (190440)LocationUnited States – Texas – AustinResponsibilitiesWork under the direction of Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s).Conduct analyses to develop design options, perform modeling and calculations, and prepare design sketches and concept drawings.Work with Designers and CAD Technicians to develop construction drawings in accordance with national design standards, safety codes, and project specifications and requirements.Assist with preparing cost estimates or specifications.Participate in field reviews or construction observations.Design and analyze structural performance of high‑voltage transmission structures, including concrete, steel, and wood pole structures and their foundations.Typical designs include structure design, structure spotting, conductor sag and blowout calculations, foundation design, hardware selection and fit‑up, and development of bill of materials. Designs must also consider environmental permitting, right‑of‑way acquisition, public involvement, access roads, and construction requirements.Perform other duties as needed.Preferred QualificationsProficient with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD, and familiar with civil engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil 3D; specialty civil platforms (e.g., Openflows) as required.Candidates without their EIT will be hired into a Transmission Design Coordinator position and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering.An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture.EEO StatementAt HDR, we are committed to the principles of employment equity.
