Job Overview
The Transition Home Manager is the person who upholds house policies; lends an ear and patiently guides each participant; resolves conflict between participants, requests supplies, and orients new residents. This position is a key position in affecting life change in the resident’s lives. This is a live-in position that includes free housing, with a private bedroom and bathroom provided within the home. The Transition Home Manager provides on-site supervision and support to residents throughout the day, helping maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment. This role is located at the Transition Home in Nashville, TN.
Responsibilities and Duties
Promote the well-being and growth of residents by modeling and encouraging healthy communication, sound decision-making, and upholding house policies
Maintain professionalism with residents, community members, staff and the general public
Reinforce program and case management goals
Serve as a contributing staff member by participating in weekly staff meetings as well as training and development opportunities
Work as a team with all other staff to provide comprehensive client services
Encourage residents to maintain a cooperative attitude toward the program and to one another
Support residential program in providing seamless 24-hour, 7 day week coverage
Coordinate household activities such as chores, menu planning and cooking
Responsible for the general safety, overall cleanliness and well-being of the residents and facility
Document daily activities of the home and its residents. Make other staff aware of potential patterns, issues or situations
Provide crisis intervention, conflict resolution and related support services to residents
Respond quickly to on-call notifications
Conduct and document drug screens
Complete corporate training on a timely basis.
Assist with the creation of and follow critical Standard Operating Procedures and Workflows
Participate in cross training staff as requested
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ideal candidate will have experience working in case management with justice-involved or at-risk populations; lived experience is strongly valued.
Ability to maintain regular ongoing communication with releasees and network of community development organizations, landlords, property owners, community partners, local government officials, and other community stakeholders preferred
Ability to move/coordinate delivery of furniture and donations, complete household set-ups, and lift heavy objects; ability to work with volunteers in an organized, timely manner
Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment
Self- starter with excellent analytical skills combined with the demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and work efficiently
Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle with current insurance
5+ years of program supervision or management with the ability to assist supervisors and direct service providers with their skills development
Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience including supervision of multiple teams
Experience in the development of new programs and enhancement of existing ones
Makes sound and timely decisions under pressure. Recognizes what is most suitable in particular situations. Exhibits independence, decisiveness and responsibility
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test
Maintain a flexible schedule in order to be available as needed by the Program
