Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to oversee the Transportation Services function/program. This includes supervision of Senior Automotive Equipment Operators, Automotive Equipment Operators, and Drivers. The incumbent plans schedules, routes and vehicle for the MED-Transit program. The incumbent supervises shuttle operations, special projects, events, and training and maintenance programs. Develop and implement various transportation programs on campus-wide service level. Provide oral and written information and statistics on programs. #CA-SB

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • CA Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with Airbrake Endorsement
  • Required to hold a valid California Class B driver's license, have a driving record that is in accordance with local policies/procedures, and/or enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
  • 1-2 years of transit service operations, logistics coordination, or related field.
  • Basic understanding of federal, state, and local transportation regulations (e.g., ADA, DOT, and California Vehicle Code).
  • Ability to establish a safe work environment and ensure compliance with applicable safety regulations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, customers, and departments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for reporting, tracking, and documentation.
  • Customer service skills with the ability to respond to and resolve complaints in a professional manner.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • Experience in a Lead or Project Coordinator role providing oversight or guidance of project or staff.
  • Ability to coordinate logistics for transportation services, including special events and emergency situations.
  • Basic leadership skills, including the ability to provide guidance, training, and support to staff. Ability to promote a collaborative team environment.

Department Overview

Parking and Transportation Services is responsible for maximizing the use of available parking resources, the development and marketing commute alternative programs in an effort to meet regional air quality and trip reduction regulations, the operation and continued refinement of patient and employee shuttle programs.

Work Environment

UC Davis is a smoke and tobacco free campus effective January 1, 2014.
