Muscabus is looking for a friendly, organized person to work in dispatch. This position includes communicating with passengers regarding route and paratransit services, scheduling rides, dispatching vehicles, and communicating with drivers. This position is half time (20-25 hours pers week)M-F 6 a.m. - 10 a.m. and every third Saturday. Hourly rate is $22.93/hour ($23.62/hour beginning July 1). Some benefits including IPERS and paid vacation.
- Must have a High School Diploma
- Experience in high volume telephone or radio operations
- Good working knowledge of the geography of Muscatine, including the location of streets and key civic, retail, and medical locations
- General computer skills involving the use of Microsoft Office, Word and Excel and ability to adapt to various software
- Strong customer service and verbal skills.
- Ability to think and act quickly in emergency situations.
- Ability to cross train with Public Works Office Manager for additional coverage in that department
Ability to obtain or possession of a Commercial Driver's license. Continued maintenance of the license throughout period of employment. Must be insurable by City's insurance carrier. Must also be able to pass pre-employment physical, drug screen, and background check.
