Experienced in serving clients with a local, national or international presence, and a number of diverse organizational structures, our professionals can help develop meaningful solutions for your business.Responsibilities:Manage multiple concurrent engagements within the Deals Accounting and Strategic Finance practice to provide technical accounting and financial or business advisory guidance to clientsDemonstrate intermediate to advanced knowledge of complex accounting conceptsProvide timely, high quality client service that meets or exceeds client expectations including coordinating the development and execution of the consulting work plan and client deliverablesCollaborate directly with firm specialists/subject matter experts on complex accounting mattersSupervise Audit Seniors and Supervisors on engagement teamsOversee engagement economics and manage appropriate resources for efficient engagement modelsProvide accounting advisory and execution support across complex buyside and sellside transactionsSupport sellside readiness by identifying accounting gaps, improving and preparing transaction‑ready financial reporting, enhancing monthly and quarter‑end close processes, and addressing complex accounting considerations in advance of exit processesPerform transaction‑related accounting analyses, including business combinations, carveouts, and resolution of complex accounting and reporting issues under applicable accounting standardsDesign and implement accounting policies, reporting structures, and finance and accounting processes including scalable monthly close frameworks and controls to support accurate financial reportingSupport day‑one and post‑close accounting and financial reporting readiness, including stabilization of the monthly close, accounting and finance functional integration, and coordination across stakeholdersAssist management with post‑close financial reporting obligations, purchase agreement requirements, and ongoing accounting and financial reporting integration activities including ongoing close optimization and reporting cadence alignmentAnticipate and address client concerns and escape issues as they arise; identify performance improvement opportunitiesUnderstand RSM's service lines and work as a team in providing an integrated service deliveryDevelop others within the Transaction Accounting service line through mentoring, training and advising on career development or participating in other Firm initiativesUnderstand RSM's lines of businesses, availability of services and where applicable, discuss with client management of opportunities to make valuable introductions to others in the firmDevelop a strategy to utilize relationships external to the firm with different types of Centers of Influence to effectuate business growthSubscribe to and actively read industry publications and share relevant information with clients as considered applicableEnsure professional development through ongoing educationWillingness to travel 25% or less of the year, depending on your clientsRequired Qualifications:BS/BA Degree in Accounting or equivalent degree5+ years of current or recent experience in a public accounting, financial reporting or technical accounting capacityExcellent team and project management skillsAdvanced written and verbal communication skillsUnderstanding of audit services with knowledge of US GAAP regulationsA proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationshipsMinimum of 4 years of team lead or in‑charge experience overseeing staff on multiple engagementsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in managing project teams related to one or more of the following areas: accounting and finance optimization, audit readiness, complex accounting analysis and consultationA successful record of directing and deploying staff and senior associates on multiple, simultaneous engagementsCPA or equivalent certificationAt RSM, we offer a competitive benefits and compensation package for all our people.
