POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Policy and Planning Administrator, the Training and Research Manager is responsible for providing management services within their respective service areas, and as needed, statewide. This position manages members assigned to training, curriculum development and support, application development and support, communications related to operation policies and procedures and to facilitating communication with criminal and non-criminal justice agencies across the state. This position works independently and in teams to determine needs and develop corresponding solutions while coordinating with other members to plan and implement programs related to the collection and use of criminal justice information and data as directed by the Division's strategic plan. This position requires up to 25% travel. Responsible for supervision of staff and incumbent spends most of time communicating with, motivating, training and evaluating members while planning and directing their work. This position has the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action. Refer to agency policy as these types of personnel actions will require final approval from Command Staff up to Senior Executive level in your Chain of Command.

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLEs pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
