Job Description

Job Function: Training -

Leads, manages, tracks and develops training and educational needs and opportunities within the Public Safety Department and serves as the UC Health Academy Program Manager.

Job Function: Field Training Officer/In-Service Program Coordinator -

Coordinates the Field Training Program for new hires with the Public Safety Department. Responsible development, coordination of the in-service training program for Public Safety personnel.

Job Function: System Management -

Provides direct support to the System Public Safety Director to ensure consistent, effective system-wide oversight and to address the operational demands of UCMC and WCH. Assumes designated areas of responsibility to enhance coordination, strengthen response capabilities, and ensure timely resolution and follow-up of security-related incidents.

Job Functions:

Training:

Directs, schedules, and evaluates comprehensive annual training programs for Public Safety personnel, including both internal and external offerings, to ensure compliance with departmental standards and regulatory requirements. Develops, coordinates, and oversees specialized training initiatives for UC Health personnel as well as external law enforcement partners. Establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with regional law enforcement agencies, community organizations, and governmental entities to support training and operational objectives. Maintains current knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends through active engagement at the local, state, and national levels.

Coordinates the selection process for officer participation in police academy programs, facilitates successful program completion, and monitors associated service commitments. Serves as Academy Commander, representing UC Health in coordination with OPOTA for both police and security officer training programs. Provides strategic oversight and continuous improvement of the field training program and ensures effective delivery of in-service training for Public Safety personnel.

System Support:

Promotes standardization and consistency in public safety operations, training, and leadership across all UC Health locations. Leads, manages, and monitors the development and implementation of required training programs to ensure compliance and organizational readiness. Contributes to improved operational efficiency, enhanced responsiveness, and strengthened public safety leadership across the health system.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree - Minimum Required | OPOTA certification | 3 - 5 Years equivalent experience - Minimum Required
