n Serves as NIST Training Officer and the NIST program manager for the Commerce Learning Center and associated learning system activities.n

  • Responsible for coordinating leadership and employee development and training programs for employees, supervisors, and outside vendors. nt
  • Serve as the HR training representative on a variety of taskforces/committees. nt
  • Serve as the DOC Liaison. nt
  • Identify and analyze areas in the training and development process that need improvement. nt
  • Develop innovative strategies, policies, and procedures to enhance the effectiveness of the HR development programs. nt
  • Conduct comprehensive research to ensure the HR Development strategies are based on the latest industry practices and data. nt
  • Work will set a precedent for other administrative roles within the origanization, requiring exercise of sound judgement when interpreting ambiguous guidelines or scenarios. nt

Qualifications

n To qualify, applicants must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 level (or ZA-III at NIST). Specialized experience is defined as experience:n

  • Developing and implementing employee training programs, conducting needs assessment, and creating customized program content; nt
  • Performing comprehensive research and data analysis related to employee development programs and compiling and presenting findings in a manner that informs decision-making processes; and nt
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, such as management, external vendors, and cross-functional teams. This involves coordinating with these stakeholders on projects or initiatives and demonstrating the ability to effectively collaborate, negotiate, and drive consensus n

nExperience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
