Tesla Solar Manufacturing Operations Team is looking for a highly motivated individual to support training needs at our upcoming solar manufacturing facility. As this is a launch role, you will play a key part in supporting the training execution efforts during facility ramp-up. You will be responsible for organizing training materials, coordinating and facilitating training for all new hires as well as providing ongoing training for existing team members. You will need to be knowledgeable and have hands-on experience in a production environment. This will be a hands-on, lineside role in a manufacturing factory environment. You are flexible, confident, and can communicate with different levels of the organization (associate, technician, managers, engineering, etc.) to achieve training targets and goals. You will be expected to be able to provide a plan for training success for all areas of the upcoming solar manufacturing facility, tracking record of successful execution of projects, drive and lead issues / activities, and initiate projects within the team for the purpose of continuous improvement and deliver results. Work collaboratively with the Tesla onboarding team to ensure a smooth transition into training including scheduling, logistics, and communication. Able to track new hires with a high level of detail, manage certifications / station assignments, and lead a group of workstation trainers per respective shop. Able to work lineside for the entirety of their shift with associates to proactively assess training progress
Effectively allocate different groups into the appropriate training to prepare them for their role. Support engineering and shop process owners in organizing and compiling training materials, learn new process skills, keeping up to date with the latest revisions of process operations, and area cross-training to train employees on proper techniques
Over communicate with trainees, stakeholders, managers on what training is planned and completed based on their needs. Communicate closely with production leaders to ensure training efforts are aligned with business need
Ensure constant engagement with manufacturing, production leadership, technical writing, process engineering, etc. to keep up to date with the latest revisions of process operations. Able to navigate through JIRA, actively monitoring and auditing ticket closure, engaging the teams on actions needed to close issues and can speak to closure rates week over week
Facilitate live training on the manufacturing factory floor for new hires, existing employees, and any other trainings that may be required. Able to mentor new facilitators, able to certify on required safety courses, target trainings based on high failure rates, and demonstrate the ability to simulate a hands-on environment for training that might not be able to be conducted on the line
Ensure the Learning Management System (LMS) reflects the latest revision of each course and that Versatility Charts are up to date and accurate to reflect current team capabilities
Set the expectations of new hires and existing hires according to Tesla standards so they understand safety, quality, and efficiency. Able to conduct daily station / trainee audits to assess cycle time attainment, updated documentation, and training opportunities in the factory
