This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Crafts Farrow, 7901 Farrow Road, Columbia SC 29203.
As the Training Coordinator II / Instructor, you will report to the Director of Education, Training and Research (ETR). You will plan, provide and evaluate education and training related to the practical application of fundamental mental health communication and intervention skills. The focus will be on appropriate relationships, boundaries, de-escalation and principles of communication. This includes new employees and referrals for training.
Responsibilities for the Administrative Coordinator I include:
Design, develop and maintain Training Programs based on accreditation and regulatory needs for both nursing and non-nursing staff. Provides direct instruction to the SC BHDD Office of Mental Health employees for the institutional needs of other programs to include but not limited to Mandt Initial, Mandt Recertification, MAPS, MAPS Update, CPR, CPR Skill, First Aid, and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
Design and assist in the development of learning plans for individual employees, units, or disciplines and existing employee annual trainings.
Administer the continuing education units (CEU) program. Ensure all CEU program requests meet the requirements outlined by both SC LLR and SC BHDD-OMH.
Design and plan quarterly training sessions optional development opportunities or theme-based learning for both in-person and online audiences.
Update materials, track metrics like completion rates, certifications, and training hours. Develop reports. Conduct ad-hoc trainings as required.
Complete all required annual and other training as assigned.
Assist other trainers in performance of their duties as assigned or as time permits.

Do you have a one of the following: a bachelors degree and one (1) year of experience in personnel or employee training; OR an associates degree and three (3) years experience in the above fields; OR high school graduation and five (5) experience in the above fields.
