Responsibilities:
The Training Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering training programs for distribution center associates. This role ensures associates are properly trained on safety procedures, equipment operation, and standard work processes to drive productivity, quality, and compliance.
Coordinate and deliver new hire onboarding and orientation for hourly associates
Schedule and facilitate training for warehouse roles (pick, pack, ship, receive, forklift, etc.)
Ensure all employees are trained on safety standards, OSHA requirements, and company policies
Partner with Operations leaders to identify skill gaps and training needs
Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and job aids
Track and report training completion, certifications, and compliance metrics
Administer and manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) and training records
Conduct refresher training and cross-training programs to support workforce flexibility
Evaluate training effectiveness through audits, observations, and performance data
Support leadership development for leads, supervisors, and high-potential employees
Assist with onboarding programs to improve retention and time-to-productivity
Ensure proper certification for equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Education or related field, preferred;
Two to four years of experience in training, warehouse operations, or learning & development, or combination of education and relevant experience
Experience working a fast-paced distribution center, manufacturing, or logistics environment
Strong facilitation and communication skills with hourly workforce populations with the ability to engage and train a large group of associates
Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety training
Collaborate with Operation and Human Resource teams
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, LMS platforms, and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Ability to track data and report
Certified in training or instructional design (e.g. ATD), preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish), preferred
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends, to support multiple shifts
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Fast-paced warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures
Frequent walking, standing, and interacting on the warehouse floor
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (as needed)
May require travel between shifts or nearby facilities
