Trainer II (Revenue Cycle - Epic Platforms) Patient Accounting Revenue Enhancements-Corporate-Full-Time-Days- Hybrid

The Revenue Cycle Trainer II is responsible for delivering training and workflow education related to Epic revenue cycle applications and revenue cycle operations across the Mount Sinai Health System. This role partners with operational leadership and Epic application teams to support staff onboarding, continuing education, workflow optimization, and system updates

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate instructor-led, virtual, and one-on-one training sessions for revenue cycle staff across Epic applications.
  • Develop and execute training and education programs supporting front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end revenue cycle workflows.
  • "Build course content via Easy generator application for end-user access of self-guided revenue cycle training modules and course assessments on PEAK."
  • Deliver onboarding programs for new hires and cross-training for existing staff.
  • Utilize Epic training environments including Playground and Hyperspace for hands-on instruction.
  • Ensure training sessions align with adult learning principles and operational workflows.
  • Provide training support across Epic applications including Prelude, Cadence, Grand Central, Resolute PB/HB, Claims & Remittance, Charge Router, Charge Capture, MyChart, Reporting Workbench, Radar, and Cogito.
  • Develop, maintain, and update training manuals, workflow guides, job aids, tip sheets, presentations, and eLearning content.
  • Ensure educational materials reflect current Epic system build, workflow changes, and operational updates.
  • Support curriculum development for new implementations, upgrades, and workflow enhancements.
  • Coordinate onboarding and continuing education programs for revenue cycle staff.
  • Conduct competency assessments and provide retraining based on workflow gaps, audits, or operational trends.
  • Monitor training effectiveness through performance metrics, observations, and staff feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow improvement and targeted educational support.
  • Partner with Revenue Cycle leadership to identify operational needs, workflow changes, and training opportunities.
  • Support operational initiatives focused on improving clean claim rates, denial reduction, accounts receivable performance, and point-of-service collections.
  • Participate in operational meetings and provide workflow and training support.
  • Support Epic upgrades, system enhancements, testing validation, and go-live initiatives.
  • Communicate workflow and system updates to end users across departments.
  • Ensure training content aligns with CMS, HIPAA, payer guidelines, and organizational policies.
  • Reinforce accurate documentation, billing, coding, and reimbursement practices.
  • Maintain training documentation, attendance records, competency tracking, and educational compliance records.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Education, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3?5 years of healthcare revenue cycle experience required.
  • 2+ years of training or instructional experience preferred.
  • Experience developing eLearning or training content preferred.
  • Knowledge of adult learning methodologies and instructional design principles preferred
  • Epic certification(s) in Prelude, Cadence, Resolute PB/HB, or Grand Central preferred

  • Must be highly skilled in oral and written communications. Requires strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with clients and IT personnel. Ability to pay strong attention to details. Able to work in fast-paced environment. Flexibility to work across multiple sites.

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $74500 - $111805 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
