TRAINER/DEVELOPER


REQUIRED SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High levels of physical and mental stamina and energy to train classes up to 4 days in duration is a MUST HAVE. Classes may require long periods of standing / moving about / sitting and operating robot equipment
  • Experience in robots and robot systems plus instruction and development of supporting materials, a MUST along with an obvious potential and strong desire to learn all aspects of robots and robot systems instruction
PLUS:
  • Obvious expertise and experience in stand up training/development in an industrial/classroom setting
  • Strong, outgoing but warm personality that encourages trainees’ learning and motivation
  • Knowledge of instructional design and training, learning and development science
  • Bachelor, Associates Degree in any related technical field OR equivalent RELEVANT experience
  • Automation troubleshooting skills/experience/technical inquiring mind
  • Some solid exposure to an industrial robotics environment is a must – you can’t just ‘wing it’
  • Knowledge and sound technical appreciation of robotic processes such as servo spot welding, material handling, sealing, vision guidance, etc.
  • Understanding of interfacing robots to peripheral devices with discrete, fieldbus I/O and serial/Ethernet communications
  • Knowledge of basic computer programming concepts – program structure, variables, conditional statements, subroutines, loops, etc. an advantage
  • Knowledge of and exposure to industrial safety procedures and standards for robotic applications
  • Flexibility to react to customer’s needs and provide a professional appearance, approach, demeanor, and manner with all customers/trainees
  • Strong understanding, and practical working knowledge of PCs, with applications including but not limited to spreadsheet, word processing, desktop publishing applications, and graphics software programs
  • Must be a team fit within an organization committed to a common goal, diversity and continuous improvement
  • Must have ability to travel up to 20% to occasionally deliver training on site

POSITION PURPOSE:

  • With minimum supervision and following initial agreed training/acclimatization period, successfully conduct training courses on products for paying customers and internal staff
  • To learn and absorb new products, techniques and material and prepare training and documentation for same
  • Write and create comprehensive course plans, documentation, manuals and other instructional material
  • Deliver and improve training courses including Operations and Programming, AS Language Programming, Electrical Maintenance and Mechanical Maintenance for all the company's controllers and arms
  • Learn, develop, and deliver new and custom courses per internal and external customer requests
  • Learn new products as they are released by the company, develop and deliver training on said products
  • Develop and produce various training aids, power point presentations, videos, job aids etc, as necessary to meet the training and documentation needs of customers and internal members
  • Help install, debug, reconfigure and maintain robots in the training lab as needed following training
  • Maintain customer database materials and administer client access
  • Objectively assess training feedback and make improvements and adjustments where appropriate
  • Travel to installations to support Business units and learn the product/application
  • Other related duties as assigned
