Position Description

The Resilient Communities Training Coordinator will report directly to the Resilient Communities and PACEs Education Program Manager, playing a crucial role in supporting the implementation of initiatives aimed at addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and promoting Positive Childhood Experiences (PCEs) within Davidson County. This position will primarily focus on coordinating, organizing, and supporting community training related to PACEs, resilience, trauma-informed practices, and behavioral health initiatives in the reduction of opioid use and misuse. The coordinator will ensure that all training and educational materials are culturally responsive, accessible, community-informed, and delivered in a timely and effective manner to diverse audiences across Davidson County.

This position is critical in helping the program respond to the growing community demand for PACEs, resilience, and trauma-informed training across Davidson County while maintaining high-quality and culturally responsive educational offerings.

The Training Coordinator will be a dynamic and detail-oriented leader who can facilitate the day-to-day training and educational needs of the PACEs and Resilient Communities program and the Behavioral Health and Wellness Division at Metro Public Health Department. This role will support collaboration with community partners, trainers, and stakeholders to strengthen the consistency, quality, and reach of resilience-building and prevention education efforts throughout the community.

Typical Duties

  • Supports Metro Public Health Department's Behavioral Health and Wellness Division and PACEs and Community Resilience program through communications support, social media management, and graphic design.
  • Work with the Curriculum Development Coordinator to ensure that all training materials, presentations, and community education resources are culturally responsive, inclusive, accessible, and aligned with community needs and program goals.
  • Assist in the coordination of training sessions, workshops, and community events related to ACEs education and prevention, including logistical support, participant registration, and materials preparation.
  • In collaboration with the Curriculum Development Coordinator, supports the development and dissemination of public-facing educational content related to PACEs and Community Resilience, including presentations, printed materials, and digital resources.
  • Maintain cohesive branding for PACEs and Community Resilience Program in all public facing material including presentations, social media, website design, and other relevant content.
  • Monitoring website and social media accounts.
  • Responds to requests for information by community partners as appropriate, in coordination with Working Groups and Leadership Team.
  • Assists in grant-writing.
  • Related Duties as Required.

Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from an accredited (4) four-year college or university and one (1) year of responsible, full-time employment in public administration, business administration, public health administration, public health sanitation, public health nursing, public health education, or other appropriate field

or

One (1) year of graduate study in public health administration, public administration, or health education may be substituted for one (1) year of experience

or

A minimum of seven (7) years of increasingly responsible experience in the areas of public health administration, public administration, public health sanitation, or business administration, of which at least one (1) year within the past three (3) years must have been in an administrative or supervisory capacity.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of experience in public health, social work, behavioral health or related field.
  • Master's degree in public health, social work or behavioral health may be substituted for one (1) year of required experience.
  • A minimum of (3) three years' work experience in the behavioral health field including (1) one or more years of proven community outreach and coordination experience strongly preferred.
  • Subject matter knowledge of PACEs , Substance Use and Misuse and long-term health outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with community partners.
  • The presence inspires confidence and passion in external audiences.
  • Advanced project management skills.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed.
  • Commitment to the collective impact concepts.
  • Strong community engagement and facilitation skills; and
  • Experience in grant writing.
