Trading Desk Specialist (buy-side)

Join a small tight knit investment team as a Trading Desk / Operations Specialist. In this pivotal mid-level role, you will be at the heart of our asset management operations, ensuring seamless trade execution, precise portfolio monitoring, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities 
  • Partner closely with the traders and portfolio managers to support daily trading activity across asset classes 
  • Assist with trade creations, allocation, execution tracking, and error resolution 
  • Monitor trades, positions, and cash balances 
  • Manage client cash flows by creating and executing program trades while maintaining portfolio alignment with target allocations and investment mandates
  • Produce daily trading and portfolio reports 
  • Maintain and enhance Excel based tools and models for portfolio tracking, P&L reporting, analytics, and exposure monitoring 
  • Develop automated workflows using Excel and other applications
  • Support best execution analysis and transaction cost monitoring 
  • Collaborate with operations, compliance, and technology teams 
  • Contribute to improvements in trading infrastructure and data processes 
Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related quantitative course of study
  • 5+ years of experience in investment management, hedge funds, or similar buy-side environments supporting trading desks and operations teams
  • Deep understanding of portfolio construction, market mechanics, and asset class workflows
  • Experience with transaction cost analysis and best execution practices
  • Multi-asset exposure, including US equity markets, current trading (spots and forwards), derivatives, and mutual funds
  • Hands-on experience with trade order management systems (OMS/EMS)
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg or similar data tools
  • Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, pivots, macros, and automation scripting skills (Python, PowerShell,...)
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical capabilities, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced settings
