Francis Marion University invites applications for a Trades Specialist who, under general supervision, performs skilled duties involved in the maintenance, repair, and modification of buildings and equipment.
Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
State Requirements: Formal training or trades experience that is directly related to the area of employment.
FMU Preferences: High School graduate with 3-5 years' work experience directly related to the area of employment. A trade course would be helpful but not required. Desirable skills but not required: plumbing, welding masonry, concrete work, rough carpentry, framing, drywall construction, painting, etc. Must be able to see well enough to read chemical labels accurately in various lighting conditions and to operate equipment safely at normal sound cues from other traffic and from equipment being operated.
Normal Working Hours: Monday-Friday 7:00am- 3:00pm. Summer Hours will vary.
State Classification: Trades Specialist III, KC30
Band/Level: 4/1
Salary: $37,200 (After July 1, 2025)
