Shape Credit Strategy Across North America

Imagine starting your week by reviewing a portfolio of dealer accounts, scanning Dun & Bradstreet reports, and prepping insights for a revenue call with the VP of Sales. By mid-morning, you’re resolving a customer payment dispute, aligning with our banks and outside collection partners, and finalizing UCC renewals with NCS to safeguard MCG’s assets and Manitowoc’s position. In the afternoon, you’re coaching your team on a new collections workflow, troubleshooting a complex A/R exception with the Director, and updating the cash forecast to reflect known and potential delays. That’s a day in the life of our Trade Credit Risk & Collections Manager.

What You’ll Lead

  • Own the credit and collections program for North America—serve as the primary contact for internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve outstanding receivables, customer complaints, and credit evaluations for both new and existing customers.
  • Protect title in MCG’s assets tied to open invoices: procure needed documentation promptly, track prior UCC filing expiration dates, renew filings as needed, and maintain complete electronic records on the department share drive.
  • Act as the central liaison with NCS (U.C.C. service provider), banks, trade references, credit agencies (e.g., Dun & Bradstreet), and third‑party collection firms.
  • Analyze customer financial statements and D&B data to assess creditworthiness and recommend sound credit limits.
  • Review and approve Whole Goods Purchase Orders, preparing clear analyses of credit risk.
  • Join weekly revenue calls and partner with the VP of Sales to flag emerging financing and credit risks.
  • Coordinate and produce the weekly cash forecast, highlighting both known and potential collection challenges.
  • Prepare bad debt analyses, annual customer credit reviews, and timely reports for senior leadership.
  • Review order backlog to confirm adequate credit lines are in place to finance each dealer.
  • Drive process improvement with the Director; gather team feedback to enhance collections and customer service performance.
  • Assist the Director and team in resolving complex credit, collections, and A/R issues; take ownership of specific accounts or portfolios as required.

Skills That Set You Up for Success

  • Operations management and supply chain optimization expertise; fluency in manufacturing environments and lean practices.
  • ERP proficiency (Infor LN, Oracle) and advanced Excel (formulas, pivot tables, macros); Power BI for analytics and reporting.
  • Cross‑functional leadership with excellent communication and strategic thinking.

How You Work

  • Build collaborative relationships across departments and with customers; negotiate effectively.
  • Juggle priorities, solve problems, and present insights with strong attention to detail.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Coach, guide, and develop team members; operate as a strategic, self‑starting leader.

Background We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 7–10 years of Credit & Collections experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict professionally with customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborative mindset with willingness to support company goals beyond narrowly defined responsibilities.
  • Technical toolkit: Infor LN, Oracle, advanced Excel, and Power BI.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

Work Environment & Travel

  • Comfortable splitting time between office settings and the shop floor; PPE is required on the floor.
  • Domestic travel: approximately 10%.

Additional Notes

The scope of this role may evolve; responsibilities can be adjusted to meet business needs at any time, with or without prior notice.

Preferred Proficiency

  • Financial audit experience.
