The Tractor/Trailer Technician is responsible for the company's performance in terms of efficient and effective and timely repairs and maintenance on the Bison Transport fleet. The Technician is expected to be a team player in the Maintenance Department. They must be able to diagnose and repair recurring problems and effectively communicate these to other members of the Maintenance Team
Location: Amherst, WI
Shifts: 4x10s 1st and 2nd shifts; depending on availability at the time of offer
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance: Involves working safely and performing preventative maintenance on all equipment in the Bison Transport fleet. On a daily basis, the Technician is responsible for performing maintenance on all equipment, this involves diagnosing problems that are found during these inspections and proscribing the correct remedial action.
Repairs: Involves performing repairs that are diagnosed during the pre/post trip or quick check inspection and preventative maintenance. On a daily basis, the Technician is responsible for performing repairs in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
Entering work orders, shop cleaning, attending team meetings and performing other miscellaneous repairs on Bison Transport equipment.
Qualifications:
Valid Drivers License.
Experience in using computers to enter work orders.
Good communication skills with a professional attitude.
Able to stand and walk on level and uneven surfaces, twist, bend, push, pull, crouch, climb stairs, bend and crawl, grasp, drag, lift and carry items weighing 50 lbs or less.
Previous experience with all types and makes of tractors and trailers heavy-duty diesel trucks
May work above shoulder level with power and /or hand tools weighing 15 pounds or less and in confined spaces
One year certificate from college or technical school is an asset; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
