The Parts Sales Associate (Retail Counter) reports to the Parts Manager and is responsible for selling vehicle parts to customers over the counter, by phone, or through the shop.
Essential duties include assisting walk-in customers, suggesting compatible parts and specials, pulling stock, processing orders for shipment or pickup, and managing back-order files. They verify incoming inventory, prepare merchandise displays, accept payments, and maintain the organization and cleanliness of the parts department.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience in a vehicle parts department. Strong communication skills, ability to work with the public, and proficiency with computer applications are required. Physical demands involve lifting up to 40 pounds and working in environments with potential exposure to chemicals, fumes, and noise.
Additional responsibilities include assisting colleagues, completing training, following policies, and performing other duties as assigned. The role requires attention to detail, customer service skills, and adherence to safety procedures.
