Summary: As a Tower Construction Manager, you will oversee all aspects of tower construction projects from inception to completion. This includes project planning, site supervision, crew management, quality control, and safety compliance. You will work closely with engineers, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure projects are executed efficiently and within budget.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Conduct job walks to assess project scope and requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to review design documents and address potential challenges.
  • Mobilize construction crews and equipment to project sites efficiently.
  • Oversee site preparation, foundation work, tower erection, and installation of antennas and microwaves.
  • Manage multiple complex projects simultaneously to ensure timely and within-budget completion.

Site Supervision:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and identify any issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and client specifications.
  • Resolve site-specific challenges and coordinate activities with subcontractors.
  • Monitor project timelines and adjust schedules as necessary to meet deadlines.

Crew Management:

  • Lead and manage construction crews, including hiring, training, and evaluating performance.
  • Assign tasks, monitor productivity, and enforce adherence to safety protocols.
  • Address crew concerns promptly and maintain a positive work environment.

Quality Control:

  • Implement rigorous quality control measures to ensure project deliverables meet specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections and testing to verify compliance with industry standards.
  • Document project progress, including daily reports and photographic documentation.

Safety Compliance:

  • Enforce strict safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings.
  • Identify and mitigate potential hazards on construction sites.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies and accidents.

Budget and Cost Control:

  • Monitor project budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Track expenses accurately and prepare detailed project reports.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely delivery of materials and supplies.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a management role within the construction industry.
  • 10+ years of experience specifically in tower construction or telecommunications.
  • Strong understanding of tower construction techniques, including foundation work, steel erection, and antenna installation.
  • Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings and blueprints effectively.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Willingness to travel to remote locations and work extended hours as required.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with RF engineering and frequency coordination.
  • Familiarity with climbing and rigging techniques.
  • Certifications in OSHA 10-Hour and 30-Hour Construction Safety Training.
  • Valid driver's license.


Other Qualifications: Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints. Frequent travel by land or by air.


Licenses, Certifications: Driver’s license; appropriate tower climbing certifications.
