Description
United Veterinary Care (UVC) is seeking a Total Rewards Specialist to join our People team. Reporting to the People Manager, you will play a key part in supporting and enhancing our employee experience through the administration and implementation of benefits, wellness, leave management and compensation programs. The ideal candidate brings analytical expertise, attention to detail, and people-first thinking, while serving as a trusted partner in UVC's People strategy. This is a primarily remote position with less than 10% travel expected for meetings.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Employee Benefits:
• Act as the subject matter expert for Benefits and Leave of Absence processes within the Dayforce HRIS system, supporting system implementation and maintenance.
• Administer the company’s health and welfare plans while servicing and supporting all team members.
• Establish and maintain relationships with health and welfare vendors to resolve any team member issues.
• Administer the company’s 401k and PLIT programs.
• Assist with annual Benefits open enrollment, including working with vendors to publish and communicate a timeline with specifics and communication plan to all team members.
• Manage Company’s student loan repayment program.
• Assist in researching, proposing and administering company-wide wellness program initiatives and communications.
• Serve as a primary member of the wellbeing committee.
• Leverage existing and potential benefit programs (EAP, Wellness funds, etc.) to ensure a thoughtful wellbeing program is in place.
• Support the communication strategy of all available total reward resources to UVC team members.
Leave of Absences:
• Responsible for generating monthly leave reporting and tracking.
• Ensure compliance with ADA and provide support to the People Advisors and Hospitals.
• Handle all requests for team member Leaves of Absences, monitor team member leave periods; identify patterns, issues or concerns and coordinates with team members, hospital leadership, Support Center, short and long-term disability vendors, Department of Labor, and consults with the People Manager and/or the Director of People Services to determine if escalation or guidance from Legal is required.
• Manage benefit / arrears for team members on leave of absence.
Compensation:
• Apply analytical skills to conduct job analyses and evaluate compensation and benefit program.
• Oversee key compensation programs and processes including the EE Incentive Program, Hospital Leadership Bonus Program, Support Center Bonus Structures.
• Manage the Employee Agreement (EA) process for doctor compensation.
• Evaluate new roles upon request inclusive of job profiles and descriptions and pay ranges.
• Partner with the People Manager to design and implement compensation procedures for the Support Center including streamlined processes for new hires/promotions, pay range structure, bonus guidelines, etc.
• Provide ad hoc wage analysis for both the Support Center and Hospital jobs.
Support:
• Monitor help desk for People related service requests and resolves requests within the specified time frame.
• Provide professional, consistent and responsive support services across the organization to deliver high quality team member service and support.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business management required; PHR or SPHR certification, Master’s degree in human resources or MBA, or relevant masters, a plus but not required.
• Minimum of 2+ years related experience, including maintaining confidential and sensitive information.
• Knowledge of HIPPA, FMLA and COBRA regulations and requirements.
• Advanced skills in MS Office package and the ability to learn other software applications.
• Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and leave administration; HR/Payroll policies and systems.
• Comprehensive understanding of federal and multi-state leave and mandated sick leave laws and regulations.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, writing skills, relationship-building skills and an ethical mindset.
• Strong sense of prioritization with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to listen and ascertain the needs of team members; ability to find and communicate accurate information concerning processes, policies, and procedures; ability to respond tactfully and courteously.
• Highly organized, able to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision
• Experience in multi-site and/or veterinary medicine is a plus.
• Stay connected to the competitive landscape, including trends related to benefits in the veterinary industry. Strong written, verbal and non-verbal skills are critical.
Physical Requirements:
• Frequent work at a computer for 90-100% of the time.
• Frequent to moderate noise level in the work environment.
• Frequent ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form to solve problems involving several variables.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch as well as manipulate (life, carry and move) up to 15 pounds.

Compensation/ Location:
• Salary range is $75,000-$80,000
