What You'll Tackle

  • Operate and set up manual machines — lathes, mills, and grinders — to produce parts from straightforward to moderately complex.
  • Perform layout: measure, mark, and scribe stock; partner with Tool & Die Makers to compute dimensions and determine layout and assembly approach.
  • Fixture workpieces securely; use hand tools to fit, finish, and assemble mechanisms and components.
  • Validate parts against prints using precision measuring tools and instruments.
  • Support Tool Grinders and Tool & Die Makers whenever needed.
  • Furnish and maintain your essential hand tools and metrology devices.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as assigned in a collaborative toolroom environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus two years of machining trade school and two years of relevant toolroom/manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Previous experience programming CNC equipment.
