As a new Tool Room Technician at Placon Corporation, you can expect an exciting and engaging work environment where every day presents unique challenges. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include maintaining and repairing tools and equipment essential for our manufacturing processes. You will work closely with engineers and production teams to troubleshoot issues, ensuring efficient operations and quality output.

Collaboration is key; you'll participate in team meetings to brainstorm innovative solutions and share insights. Be prepared to adapt and learn quickly, as you’ll be working with various machinery and technologies. Your schedule will be Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (First Shift), with potential for occasional overtime as projects demand.

This structure provides a steady routine while allowing for the flexibility to address any urgent needs in our fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What you need to be successful

To thrive as a Tool Room Technician at Placon Corporation, you will need a blend of technical skills and a proactive mindset. A strong mechanical aptitude is essential, allowing you to effectively interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Proficiency with hand tools, gauges, micrometers, and other inspection instruments will empower you to maintain exceptional quality control. Experience with machine shop equipment, including hoists, forklifts, and drills, is crucial for safely and efficiently handling tasks.

Your ability to perform tool assembly, disassembly, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance will be vital to keeping operations running smoothly. A solid grasp of basic shop math and record-keeping practices, like managing tool logs and ensuring ISO QSP compliance, will support organizational needs. Familiarity with MRP or tool-tracking database systems will streamline your workflow. Finally, strong organizational skills and attention to detail, coupled with effective verbal and written communication in English, are essential for collaborating within our dynamic team.
