Tool Room Supervisor | Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $63,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train tool room personnel on safety procedures and equipment operation.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and calibration of tools, dies, and machinery.
  • Manage inventory of tools, spare parts, and consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels.
  • Implement and enforce quality control procedures for manufactured tools and components.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering departments to optimize tool design and performance.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of tool usage, maintenance, and repair history.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the tool room.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a tool room environment.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or lead role.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling, and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Bonus Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD/CAM software for tool design.
  • Proficiency in using and maintaining a variety of precision measurement tools (e.g., CMM, optical comparators).
  • Certification in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Strong background in CNC programming and operation.
  • Experience with inventory management software specific to tool cribs.
