Position Overview
The Tool Room Associate plays a vital role in maintaining the performance and precision of tooling used in high-speed manufacturing. This position is responsible for machining, repairing, and improving tooling, dies, and fixtures to support consistent production quality and minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities
Tooling & Machining
- Perform machining and tool room operations across a variety of materials
- Repair, modify, and fabricate tooling components, including dies and replacement parts
- Operate manual and CNC equipment such as lathes, mills, and grinders
- Support tooling refurbishment and precision part production
Precision & Quality Control
- Use precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to maintain tight tolerances
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet specifications
- Maintain tooling inventory and prepare tool sets for production
Technical Support & Problem Solving
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and technical drawings
- Work with production and maintenance teams to resolve tooling issues
- Identify root causes of tooling failures and implement solutions
Continuous Improvement
- Assist with equipment rebuilds and tooling upgrades
- Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and extend tool life
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Qualifications
Technical Skills
- Experience machining ferrous, non-ferrous, and composite materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Familiarity with CNC programming, grinding (OD/ID), and jig grinding
- Knowledge of tooling repair, fabrication, and rebuild processes
Core Competencies
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and teamwork
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical or vocational training in Tool & Die, Machining, or related field preferred
- At least 2 years of manufacturing experience (high-speed production preferred)
- Hands-on experience with machine shop equipment and precision measuring tools
