PGS Worldwide is seeking a Tool Engineer in El Segundo, California for a contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This onsite position supports the Tool Design department and is responsible for designing assembly and fabrication tooling used in production and experimental environments. The role requires collaboration in a fast-paced manufacturing setting while developing tooling solutions that meet performance, accessibility, mobility, and cost requirements.
Required Skills
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM-related field
Experience in engineering, design, tooling, fabrication, or a manufacturing/production environment
Experience utilizing Siemens NX, CATIA, or other 3D CAD systems
Experience with project management
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
Experience with aerospace tooling
Experience working with SAP
Experience establishing production assembly lines or cost centers
What You’ll Do
Design industrial machinery and equipment, tools, dies, gauges, jigs, fixtures, and machine attachments for production and experimental applications
Develop assembly and fabrication tooling solutions that support manufacturing operations
Consider accessibility, economy, mobility, and performance requirements when creating tooling designs
Utilize 3D CAD software to create and modify tooling designs
Support tooling projects from concept through implementation
Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to support operational needs
