Akkodis is seeking a Tool Design Engineer for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering production‑ready tooling that meets GVOSS standards while supporting successful vehicle launches.
Rate Range: $40/Hour to $42/Hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Tool Design Engineer Job Responsibilities include:
Deliver and implement Final Assembly production tooling in alignment with GVOSS standards and launch requirements.
Guide and mentor FAE engineers and tooling integrators through tool design, validation, and production readiness.
Ensure tooling designs meet application, quality, and manufacturing requirements through reviews and standards compliance.
Support vehicle program launches by maintaining expertise in tooling processes, equipment, and final assembly operations.
Apply lessons learned and continuous improvement practices to tooling development and deployment.
Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure successful tooling integration and launch execution.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
5+ years of experience with GVOSS tooling processes and facilities, including at least one major program launch.
Strong expertise in final assembly tooling design, modification, and delivery aligned with GVOSS standards, with the ability to mentor FAE engineers and tooling integrators.
Proven experience supporting tooling during vehicle launches, applying lessons learned, and collaborating effectively with final assembly engineering and manufacturing teams.

Pay Details: $40.00 to $42.00 per hour
