    varstaff is looking for a Tool Crib Assistant II

    About the Role

    In this role, you will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and maintaining tools, fixtures, dies, and measuring devices. You will play a key part in keeping all tools and equipment fully functional and in safe working condition to ensure continuous operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Inventory Control: Receive, systematically store, and issue tools, machine tool fixtures, dies, and measuring devices.

    • Maintenance & Repair: Clean, oil, and perform minor repairs on hand tools, power tools, and various equipment.

    • Asset Tracking: Monitor, track, and report on surplus, worn-out, or obsolete equipment.

    • Safety & Compliance: Inspect structures, equipment, or vehicles and handle/transport potentially dangerous materials to maintain a safe working environment.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Education & Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent with typically 2 or more years of relevant experience (related experience can be considered in lieu of education).

    • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of the use, maintenance, and repair of a variety of hand tools, power tools, and specialized tooling equipment.

    • Safety Focus: Ability to operate in a safety-sensitive role responsible for the security of people, property, and materials.

    Preferred (Nice to Have)

    • Direct experience using the TCMax Asset Management Suite.

    • A professional background in the Aerospace and Defense industry, the US Department of Defense, or the US Military.

    Physical Demands & Working Conditions

    • Physical Mobility: Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and climbing of stairs or steps.

    • Dexterity & Motor Skills: Frequent repetitive hand, arm, and finger motions with high manual dexterity.

    • Sensory Abilities: Close/distance vision, depth perception, color distinction, and the ability to discern different audio tones and volumes.

    • Lifting: Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

    • Environment: Comfortable working in conditions with frequent exposure to loud noises and occasional exposure to outdoor elements, fumes, or hazardous chemicals/materials.
