Position Summary:
Position is intended to expose youth to meaningful work activities through on-the-job learning experiences which may lead to future career opportunities. Under the supervision of the Department Manager, serve as a staff person to the team that provides direct and indirect services to the community/clients/customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The supervisor in the areas assigned will determine duties and responsibilities.
- Greet the public and direct to the appropriate staff person or destination.
- Assist with department program needs.
- Provide information and assistance to the general public about the department programs and services.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times.
- Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.
- Complete trainings specific to department.
- Must comply with Tribal Operations Personnel Policy and policies of the department.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:
- Contacts will include frequent contact with Tribal Operations staff, Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort Management, Saganing Eagles Landing Casino, and Migizi Economic Development Company.
- May have some contact with the community and general public.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Youth enrolled in school in 11th or 12th
- Must be a member of the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe.
- Must be eligible to earn High School credits.
- Must provide a letter from High School advisor/counselor recommending participation and placement.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
- Must obtain work permit from high school, which is accredited by the state of Michigan.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
- Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including Windows programs.
- Ability to deal with staff and public in a courteous manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with co-workers at all levels.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in verbal or written format.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment.
- Required to sit for extended periods of time.
- Occasionally walk and stand and reach with arms and hands.
- Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Normal office and outdoor environment.
- Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of weather conditions including extreme hot/cold and to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of tools, equipment and materials.
