Key Responsibilities:
Title Processing: Prepare, submit, and track all legal paperwork for vehicle titling and registrations (both in-state and out-of-state) for retail and wholesale transactions.
Compliance & Accuracy: Review deal jackets to ensure all necessary documentation is present, signatures are complete, and trade-in titles are verified and processed in compliance with state DMV regulations.
Lien Payoffs & Titles: Process and follow up on floorplan and vehicle lien payoffs to facilitate rapid receipt of titles.
Wholesale Management: Coordinate and process titles for wholesale transactions, ensuring timely title delivery to buying dealers or auctions.
DMV Relations: Maintain a professional working relationship with state DMV offices and local tag agencies to quickly resolve any processing discrepancies or delays.
Inventory & Schedule Maintenance: Reconcile title tracking schedules and maintain clear, accurate internal logging of vehicle titles in inventory.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Experience: 1+ years of experience working as an Automotive Title Clerk or Registration Clerk within a dealership environment is highly preferred.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of automotive dealership documentation, deal jackets, and state vehicle titling regulations.
Software Familiarity: Experience using dealership management systems (DMS) and digital titling solutions (e.g., CVR or state-specific electronic registration systems) is a plus.
Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and a high level of data entry accuracy.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle inquiries from customers, financial institutions, and DMV representatives.
