Job summary
The States of Guernsey are looking for a Tissue Viability and Lymphoedema Specialist Nurse to join the Community Nursing Team.
As a Specialist Tissue Viability / Lymphoedema Nurse, the post holder will work alongside the community team, hospital staff and residential / nursing homes in the Bailiwick of Guernsey to support and assist in the management of the service.
The post holder will act autonomously as a specialist nurse practitioner in the field of tissue viability nursing and lymphoedema (primary and secondary), delivering high quality patient care and utilising effective professional and clinical leadership to support the delivery of a quality, effective and efficient service to patients and staff.
Main duties of the job
As a Specialist Tissue Viability/ Lymphoedema Nurse, the post holder will work alongside the community team, hospital staff and residential / nursing homes in the Bailiwick of Guernsey to support and assist in the management of the service.
The post holder will act autonomously as a specialist nurse practitioner in the field of tissue viability nursing and lymphoedema (primary and secondary), delivering high quality patient care and utilising effective professional and clinical leadership to support the delivery of a quality, effective and efficient service to patients and staff.

To undertake the assessment of patients/service users with complex needs including individuals with unconfirmed diagnosis.
To develop, implement and evaluate specialised programmes of care utilising evidence and research.
To work autonomously, recognising changes in patients/service users presentation which require intervention, knowing when to escalate as appropriate.
To guide, advise and direct other staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of specialised patient/service user care.
To promote patient/service user involvement in the planning, delivery and evaluation of care, respecting their beliefs and dignity.
