Position Title: Production Supervisor - TIGER Team

Department: Modules Division

  1. PURPOSE

Provide hands-on leadership for TIGER Team and hot work craft labor, ensuring safe, high-quality, and schedule-driven execution on modular shipbuilding projects supporting CVN, VCS, and ORP programs.

  1. POSITION SUMMARY / SCOPE OF WORK

The Structural Foreman - TIGER Team is responsible for the daily coordination, oversight, and execution of all hot work structural fabrication, fitting, and welding operations within modular assemblies. This position ensures that production efforts meet cost, schedule, and quality objectives in accordance with Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) and Trident Maritime Systems standards, as well as all applicable NAVSEA, ISO, and OQE documentation requirements. The Foreman provides front-line leadership to skilled and semi-skilled trades, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality work practices across all production shifts.

  1. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
  • Supervise, assign, and coordinate semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel performing hot work and structural fabrication tasks.
  • Lead dailymanpowerassignment, attendance, and timekeeping accountability.
  • Break down broad production strategies and schedules into practical, actionable plans for assigned crews.
  • Evaluate employee performance, provide constructive feedback, and recommend targeted training and certification needs.
  • Ensure that employees areproperly trainedand qualified to perform tasksin accordance withapproved procedures and work instructions.
  • Monitor job performance, materialutilization, and labor efficiency to support budget and schedule adherence.
  • Oversee adherence to all technical drawings, specifications, and approved weld procedures.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC personnel for in-process inspections, fit-up checks, and final weld sign-off requirements.
  • Maintain daily communication with Superintendents, Program Management, and Planning/Scheduling to align priorities and resolve production barriers.
  • Enforce Trident and NNS safety policies, ensuring compliance with OSHA and NAVSEA standards.
  • Lead by example to promote a culture of accountability, quality workmanship, and teamwork.
  • Conduct daily readiness, safety, and coordination meetings with crews.
  • Ensure paperwork packages, travelersign-offs, and material control aremaintained.
  • Support rework elimination and continuous improvement activities.
  1. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in an industrial or engineering discipline, or completion of a recognized apprenticeship program preferred.
  • High school diploma with a minimum of 6 years of relevant structural trade experience is acceptable in lieu of a degree/apprenticeship.
  • Minimum3+ yearsforemanor team lead experience in modular shipbuildingas a fitter or welder trade.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in shipyard or modular manufacturing environments.
  • Strong knowledge of shipbuilding practices, specifically CVN and VCS new construction and overhaul programs.
  • Proficiencyin interpreting shipyard drawings, 3D models, andbuildplans.
  • Ability to plan, lead, and track production progress using Microsoft Office and scheduling tools.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with a focus on safety, quality, and schedule.
  1. CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
  • OSHA 10 Maritime certification (or obtain upon hire).
  • Confined Space / Firewatch training.
  • Must pass background screening and fitness-for-duty requirements.
  • Ability to obtainsecurity clearances (confidential at a minimum)
