Tier 1 SOC Analyst

An employer in the Northwest Houston area is looking to hire a Tier 1 Cyber Security Operations Center Analyst. With a team of 6, this person will be responsible for actively monitoring and analyzing security alerts, as well as resolving Tier 1 incidents through a SIEM/Automation tool, ensuring accurate documentation and timely escalation when necessary. Using tools like Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk, this person will identify and mitigate potential cyber security threats in real-time. The SOC Analyst will investigate endpoint threats using Microsoft Defender and Crowdstrike, isolating compromised devices, blocking malicious files, and analyzing phishing emails using a sandbox tool. This is a 24/7 Security Operations Center, and they are ideally looking to hire someone that would be willing to work a night shift. This position offers an hourly pay rate of $22.50.

Skills and Requirements
6 months - 1 year of experience in a Cyber Security Role
Experience with triaging security alerts and escalating to Tier 2 Analysts
Knowledgeable in SIEM tools (preferably Sentinel, Crowdstrike, and Splunk)
Knowledgeable with endpoint protection tools (preferably MS Defender) CompTIA Security+ Certification null
