Job Duties
- Assess and plan rehabilitative programs to improve patient mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and correct disabling conditions.
- Gain confidence and cooperation from patients, families, and healthcare providers through competent assessment, monitoring, and communication.
- Adhere to regulations, codes, policies, and procedures ensuring privacy and safety in patient care.
- Provide clinical supervision of assistants and aides, and serve as a clinical instructor for students.
Accountabilities
Rehabilitation Services
- Implement physical treatment programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning and alleviate pain.
- Document patient evaluations and tests per standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and update the patient’s Plan of Care (POC).
- Coordinate patient care with other providers and team members.
- Work flexible shifts as required.
Clerical
- Prepare and complete accurate documentation related to patient care.
- Perform general clerical tasks such as answering phones and updating patient appointments.
Safety
- Participate in quality improvement processes and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Inspect and use equipment per guidelines and report malfunctions.
Compliance
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information and comply with state and federal regulations.
- Complete continuing education requirements for accreditation and licensure.
Education
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy graduate program.
